Alice Fisher
1912-2009
LEWISTON — Alice Fisher of 540 Montello Manor, formerly of Howe Street, Lewiston, has gone home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 20.
Daughter of Elisha Curtis and Viola Lehay Curtis, Alice was born on Oct. 29, 1912, in Bangor. She married the love of her life, the late Forest Fisher on April 3, 1928.
Alice lived in the Lewiston/Auburn area all her life. Her many contributions to the community included working in the lumber yard during World War II and serving as secretary for the Salvation Army. She was a devoted and loving mother of 14 children, grandmother of 48, great-grandmother of 62, and great great-grandmother to 31.
She was an avid reader, especially of her Bible. She loved to sew.
Alice was the matriarch of the Fellowship Church in Greene. Alice was
loving, compassionate, thoughtful and virtuous. She will be loved
without end by all of us.
She is survived by three daughters, Geneva Laplante and husband, Louis, and Mary Cooper, both from Lewiston, and Linda Thibodeau and her husband, Lucien, of Auburn.
She was predeceased by her husband, seven sons, four daughters and two granddaughters.
