The Key Bank in Norway’s downtown National Historic District is receiving a facelift this week with the installation of new energy-saving windows. Norm Hamel of Lewiston, above, puts the finishing touches on one of the eight arched windows that measure 5- feet-by-10-feet. Hamel said the Rich Aluminun Co. of Portland, which was contracted to do the job, has recreated each of the historic windows such as the one pictured in the foreground. The old windows, which date back about 50 years when the building housed the First National Bank, were mirrored and had dentil molding. The molding was not duplicated because of costs, said Hamel. The old windows will be given to a local antiques dealer.
