Incident report statistics
Between 12 a.m. July 12 and 12 a.m. July 19, patrol officers responded to 99 complaints.
Basic traffic stops are not given a complaint number.
Wanted:
Ashley Pingree, 20, of Rumford/Bryant Pond area is wanted on a Rumford Court warrant for failure to pay fines for an assault.
Accidents
On July 13 at 7:35 a.m., Mark Folland, 38, of Andover was traveling up Falls Hill when he sideswiped a utility pole. The 1989 Plymouth Voyager van was totaled. The only injury reported by Folland was a complaint of pain to his hand.
On July 14 at 5:25 p.m., Christopher Livak, 47, of South Paris was traveling west on Route 2 operating a 2003 Saab when he drifted to the right, going off the road and into the ditch, then striking a parked 2001 Ford SUV owned by Chris Barnett, 43, of Rumford. The result of the collision spun the Ford SUV 180 degrees. The impact caused the Saab to roll an unknown amount of time before coming to a rest. Livak was able to climb out of the vehicle. He was treated by Med-Care and Rumford Fire before being transported to Rumford Hospital and later being released with minor injuries. Livak was wearing his seat belt, which likely prevented more serious injury. Both vehicles were totaled.
Criminal Mischief
On July 14 at 9:10 p.m., Prospect Avenue business reporting approximately $300 damage to a sign. Case under investigation.
On July 15 at 7:32 a.m., Franklin Street resident reporting approximately $20 damage to an antenna on his vehicle. Case under investigation.
Theft
On July at 9:37 a.m., Mexico resident reporting theft of a $20 truckers wallet after picking up a hitchhiker. Victim located the wallet several days later in driveway. Unknown if wallet was dropped or suspect returned it.
On July 15 at 7:59 a.m., Crescent Avenue resident reported a $40 theft from her residence. The suspect was identified, and a confession received. Victim opted to not press charges and only requested criminal trespass warning be issued. $40 to be paid back to the victim by the suspect.
On July 16 at 2:06 p.m., Cumberland Street resident called reporting theft of his unemployment check. Theft was discovered after Mexico PD recovered the check destroyed in Mexico.
On July 17 at 8:14 a.m., Prospect Avenue resident reporting someone took one of her $8 license plates off her mobile home. Case under investigation.
