AUBURN — On Thursday, July 16, the Gamers and Napa Auto Parts fought again at Lakeview Field, with Napa taking a 16-0 victory. Napa’s pitching and defense gave up two hits in five innings, while their bats exploded for 11 runs in the first two innings. Josh Cobb led the offense with three hits, two runs scored and 4 RBIs, including a three-run home run in the second inning. Nick Tatu went 3 for 4 in the leadoff spot, with 2 runs scored and an RBI. Clay Phillips went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Zach Gross, Dave Pontbriand, Anthony Clark and Chris Therriault all helped out with 2 hits apiece.

Team Argo improved to 9-3 on the season and regained sole possession of first place in the Auburn Men’s Player’s Softball League with back to back wins against the Assassins and LA Fire. First, Argo came from behind and scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat the Assassins 9-7. J.J. Varney and Derek LaChance led Argo with two hits apiece. Bill Sutherland hit a two-run triple to help the cause. On Thursday, Argo doused the LA Fireman 21-2. Toby Tiner Jr., Scott Tiner, Ben LaChance and Rick Smith all led Argo with three hits. Mark Stubbs and Joe Rathbun also added two hits apiece. Del Cooper was the ace hurler in both games.

Maraurders beat the Outlaws 7-5 last week. Andrew Dugay scored two runs for the Maraurders. Dale Andrews was the winning pitcher.
