OTISFIELD — A 15-year-old boy was injured Wednesday afternoon when the dirt bike he was driving went off the road.

The boy, who was vacationing with his family in a camp on Rocky Road in Otisfield, was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center where he remained Thursday night as a precautionary measure, said State Trooper Gregory Tirado.

The boy appeared to suffer abrasions in the 3:45 p.m. accident, Tirado said.

A passenger on the bike, a 10-year-old boy from Otisfield, suffered minor abrasions and was not hospitalized, Tirado said.

He said the boys were both wearing helmets. There was no indication that speed was a factor in the accident that occurred on a dirt road that has several camps on it.

“The driver can’t remember anything,” Tirado said. “They just went right off the side of the dirt road.”
