LEWISTON — Maine Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is hosting a Government Contracting Matchmaker event to help small businesses interested in doing business with the government meet one-on-one with contracting officers and key personnel from more than 20 government agencies and prime contractors. The event will also give attendees the opportunity to hear from guest speakers on various topics including teaming and joint ventures.

The event will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Ramada Inn Convention Center, 490 Pleasant St.

Some of the participants are: Small Business Administration, General Services Administration, The Maine Division of Purchases, The Maine National Guard, Veterans Administration (Togus), Natick Army Soldier Center, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Public Works Department, Bath Iron Works, Rolls Royce, Cianbro, city of Lewiston, city of Auburn, U.S. Coast Guard, Maine Department of Transportation, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portland International Jetport, Lane Construction, Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Sysco Northern New England and URS Corporation.

Pre-registration is required and there is a limit of two representatives per business. Cost is $25 a person for small and large businesses
