In the many letters to the editor responses I have read recently about my requests for an answer to my question to Gov. John Baldacci and Sen. John Nutting, it seems everyone missed my point (July 14). I was not challenging their backing of the bill. I was just trying to get them to respond to my question with an answer.

If I am not mistaken, the people of Maine elected those two to serve us, and I see no reason why they should not have enough respect for us to at least acknowledge us when we have a simple request. After all, if we had not voted for them, they would not be in office collecting their paychecks — which we pay for.

In the future, I will be voting for individuals who show a little more respect for us.
