DIXFIELD — The class of 1959 Dixfield-Dirigo High School held their 50th class reunion on June 20 at the Kelly Middle School, with 11 class members attending. Social time was held from 3 to 5 p.m. and classmates travelled from California and South Carolina.

Among those attending were: Bill Waterhouse and his wife, California; Marshall Holman and his wife, South Carolina; Galen Williamson, Wesley; Howard Wright and his wife, Monmouth and Florida; Robert Biden and his wife, East Poland; Rand Stowell, Weld; June Hudon Swan, Bar Harbor; Sandra Swett Worth, Greenville and Florida; Debbie Defoe Townsend, Stratton; Barbara Robbins Buzzell, Dixfield; and Gloria Morse Tardif, Mechanic Falls.

The class had 25 graduates in 1959. Eight have deceased, leaving 17 classmates.

The members elected to start a scholarship in honor of their hockey coach and teacher, Linc Gordon, who left Dixfield after the class to go to Edward Little High School in Auburn.
