A crew of carpenters under George Keats began work today on the wood work for the addition which is to be built on the Klondike mill of the Webster Woolen Mills. Concrete under-piping posts were made and put in place last week and it is expected that the addition will be ready within a month. The addition is to be 20 feet wide, 60 feet long and two stories high. This is an indication that Sabattus is prospering and the work is a welcome addition to the residents of this place.

Auburn firemen got quite a jolt Saturday afternoon when they arrived at the fire which leveled two buildings of a sawmill on the Old Hotel Road. Fire Chief J. Coleman Miller said last night that when firemen arrived they found a young girl crying, “My brother’s in the fire.”

There was nothing firemen could do. Both buildings by then were a mass of roaring flame.

The brother was found a short time later, standing near the sawmill building, a short distance from the burning structures.

The action and excitement will be doubled next Saturday night at 7 when the world famous Joie Chitwood Auto Thrill Show joins the 11-race stock car racing program at Oxford Plains Speedway.

The Chitwood family is now in its 41st year and, according to spokesman Bill Kingsley, the 1984 tour is the most exciting yet.

The Chitwood team will perform such stunts as reverse spins, four-car precision driving, the spectacular cannon leap and driving on two wheels.
