AUBURN — Catholic Charities of Maine SEARCH Program will hold the eighth annual summer barbecue in honor of its volunteers and clients on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Gabe Couture’s farm, 440 Hatch Road. It will be held rain or shine.

Hors d’oeuvres and a social time will take place at 4 p.m. and the meal will be at 5. The menu will include hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage, baked beans, pasta salad, fruit salad, pickles, assorted desserts, soda, punch, coffee and tea.

The farm has chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, goats, sheep and a pig. There is a view of two ponds and Mt. Washington and Shawnee Peak. Other things to do include paddle boats, horseshoes, mining for rocks and feeding the animals and fish.

There will be door prizes and gifts. Entertainment will be provided by Lorraine Ouellette on accordion and Gerry Dube on guitar.

Those attending should wear comfortable clothing. Everyone will receive a flower. RSVP no later than Wednesday, Aug. 5, to the SEARCH office at 784-0157. Those who need a ride should let them know.
