MEXICO – The following incidents were
handled recently by the Mexico Police Department.

Accidents

Vehicles driven by Edward H. Powell,
86, Swett Avenue, Mexico, and Dale D. Dodge, 79, of Fourth Street,
Mexico, collided at 11:20 a.m. July 25 in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
Powell’s 2002 Ford sustained $1,500 damage. Dodge’s 2002
Jeep sustained $1,000 damage.

Vehicles driven by Hurchial E. Noyes,
81, of Goodwin Road, Carthage, and Donna L. Stevens, 49, of
Greenwoods Road, Sumner, collided at 11:10 a.m. July 26 on the
River Road. Noyes’ 1995 Dodge pickup sustained $2,500 damage.
Stevens’ 2002 Dodge sustained $3,000 damage.

Vandalism

A Pleasant Street resident reported at
8 a.m. on July 27 that someone the night before smashed windows and
caused other damage to his bus parked at his home. Damage was estimated at a minimum of
$2,500. Police have suspects.

A Middle Avenue resident reported at
11:24 a.m. on July 25 that someone caused $200 damage to a window at her home. Police charged a 16-year-old Carthage boy in
the incident. He is scheduled to appear in juvenile court on Oct. 6.

A Middle Avenue resident reported at
3:06 p.m. on July 27 that someone caused $85 damage to a lock box on his property. Police have suspects.

Criminal trespass

Two Backkingdom Road residents reported
that a man was going door-to-door asking for money. He was issued a
warning; however, police want to hear from anyone who has encountered
the man to learn whether threats or harassment have occurred.
Sgt. Roy Hodsdon said Mexico police have been dealing with him for
about a year.
