WESTBROOK – The 19th annual high school All-Star Soccer Tournament is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Westbrook High School. Rain date is Thursday. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Maine.
Teams will represent the Western Maine Conference and Southern Maine Activities Association. All players were 2009 graduates of their respective high schools. The women’s game will begin at 6 p.m., with the men at 8 p.m.
Matt Erickson of St. Dominic Regional High School will co-coach the WMC boys’ all-stars. This will be the Saints’ final showing at the game before moving into the Mountain Valley Conference this fall.
Concession stands will be open. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Golf tournament scheduled
STRATTON – Dead River Area Historical Society will sponsor a golf tournament at Moose Meadows, a par-3 course located beside Nash Stream on Route 16. The tournament begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 9 and will benefit the museum’s painting project. Fee is $30, which includes 18-hole green fees and lunch. There also will be a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction.

Umpires to meet
LEWISTON – The Andy Valley Umpires Softball Association will hold its monthly meeting this Wednesday, August 5 at 8 p.m. at Multi-Purpose Center. On the agenda this month: Lewiston and Auburn summer recreational league updates; association by-laws; fall leagues; ASA state tourneys; nominations for next year’s executive board; and recreational league playoff schedules.

Auburn Youth Football changes leagues, start date
AUBURN – Auburn Youth Football third thru sixxth grade teams have joined the Sandy Andy Football League. Auburn Rec Youth Football will have two teams in the 3rd and 4th grade division and two teams in the 5th and 6th grade division. Other teams competing in theis league are Jay, Livermore, Farmington, Turner, Rumford, Dixfield, Poland, Monmouth and Greenwood.
Due to the change, equipment hand out will happen earlier than whet was printed on earlier registration flyers. On Sunday, August 16th, equipment will be handed out at the Auburn Recreation Department at Pettingill Park at 6 p.m. Players may register any time at the Auburn Recreation Department or visit the Auburn Rec web site. Auburn Falcons football info
AUBURN – The Auburn Rec 7th and 8th grade football team will have a parents meeting at 6 p.m. Friday, August 14 at the Auburn Recreation Department building in Pettingill Park. Immediately following the parents meeting, equipment will be issued. The first practice will be Monday, August 17 at 5:30 p.m. on Chestnut Field. Auburn Football Camp scheduled
AUBURN – Auburn Recreation Department will be offering a football camp for athletes in kindergarten to eighth grade Saturday, August 15 from 8 a.m. to noon at Walton Field. Players will be broken up by grade and position. This clinic is to introduce the fundamentals of the game to Auburn players before the season starts. Players need only cleats, T-shirt and shorts. This is a non-contact camp.
The camp will be under the direction of Mike Lawrence, Auburn Falcons Head Coach, and Craig Jipson, Auburn Youth Football Director and Freshman football coach at Edward Little High School. Players may sign up at the Auburn Recreation Department at Pettingill Park or visit the Auburn Rec web site.
