DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Emergency Food Pantry will hold a food drive at the annual Dixfield Outdoor Market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16. The pantry will make an effort to “fill up the pickup.”
Market attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food products to help fill the truck to capacity to help feed hungry families in the area.
The pantry is operated jointly by the Dixfield Common Baptist Church and the Carthage Union Church as a ministry to the community. As many as 36 families have been helped in the last year. Hours are 9 a.m. to noon Mondays and Thursdays at the Dixfield church.
The pantry is open to any resident of Carthage, Dixfield or East Dixfield. For more information, call Linda Hinkley at 562-7470.
