WELD — The Asa R. Hinkley Memorial Horseshoe Tournament will take place Saturday, Aug. 15, at Dummer’s Beach as a fundraiser to benefit the Hinkley family scholarship fund.
Any interested person may join. There is a $5 donation requested for each participant. Prizes will be awarded for several categories, including kids. Registration will end at 12:30 p.m. and the tournament will start at 1. Early registration is recommended.
The Hinkley fund was established in memory of Loreston L. Hinkley Jr. and Alice L. Hinkley and is open to any of their descendants or other eligible students. The scholarship committee raises money each year to award one or more scholarships to eligible students from the area.
