BOOTHBAY HARBOR — Elise Perkins of Auburn was awarded a scholarship by the Maine Innkeepers Association Education Foundation, affiliated with the Maine Innkeepers Association, at a dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf Inn as part of MEIA’s fifth annual Tees and Textbooks event. Perkins, a student of Endicott College in Beverly Mass., was awarded the Charlie Keegan Award of $500 by Barton Brass of Turkish Towels, who sponsored the award.
Perkins is enrolled in the hospitality administration program at Endicott and is doing a summer internship at Spa Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth. She has worked at the Hilton Garden Inn Riverwatch in Auburn in sales in the past. She hopes to work in spa management in the future.
The scholarship program was created in 1984 to inspire and support Maine students pursuing careers in hospitality.
