Gladys “Tammy” Cummins
1948 – 2009

AUBURN — Gladys “Tammy” M. Cummins, 61, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin, following a long illness.


She was born in Portland on Feb. 24, 1948, the daughter of Laurice and Pauline (Potter) Howes. She was a graduate of Lewiston High School and was employed for many years in the local shoe industry. Being a mother to her children was what she was most proud of.


Tammy enjoyed participating in and attending antique car shows, and also building model railroads and villages with her companion, Gerry. Earlier in her life, she enjoyed dancing and had won many dance contests over the years. She also loved her dog, “Samantha.”


She is survived by her companion, Gerald Montminy, of Lewiston; two sons, Buddy Cummins and Toby Cummins, both of Lewiston; two daughters, Sheila Davis and her fiancé, Paul Fontaine, of Livermore Falls, and Mylinda Frechette and her husband, Arthur, of Sabattus; two brothers, Patrick Howes and his fiancée, Doris Chamberlain, of Lewiston, and John Howes and his wife, Terry, of Sabattus; eight grandchildren, Ericka, RJ, Veronica, Karissa, Rayden, Dante, Christopher and Adryan; and two great-grandchildren, Madylinn and DJ.
