As we debate the proposal for a socialist government takeover of health care, I think it’s time to finally put an end to all this socialism that is ruining America.

First, the existing socialist single-payer, government-run health care systems, such as Medicare, the Veterans Administration and the health care plan that Congress has for itself but refuses to give to the public, must be scrapped. Those socialist medical systems are killing old people and ruining capitalism. If people want health care, let them buy it from for-profit corporations, the way they buy jeans and CDs.

Then there are the socialist police departments, such as the Lewiston Police Department, and the socialist armed forces, such as the U.S. Army. Enough is enough. Taxes are too high. If the public wants protection, let them pay for-profit corporations (such as Blackwater) for the privilege of being safe; otherwise, they should just take their chances.

And the socialist road system. Roads should all be owned by for-profit corporations. If people want the privilege of driving out of their driveways onto the roads, they should pay the private corporations; otherwise, they should just stay home.

And the socialist “public” school system. All schools should be owned by for-profit corporations, and everyone should have to pay them for the education of their children; that way taxes would be lower.

Corporations have the best interests of the American people at heart and are the backbone of capitalism. Stop the socialists before they destroy America.
