My pet peeve is:  Near Wal-mart and Home Depot in Auburn, there are two lanes that head across the Turner Street intersection; one lane turns off when you want to go to Kohl’s, then two lanes continue and the one on the right goes to Home Depot and the one on the left goes straight.

If you do not intend to go right into Home Depot, you should be in the left lane of the two that head straight after the light at Wal-mart. You can almost always tell the ones who have no intention of going to Home Depot, then they expect you to let them in when they want to continue straight. If you find yourself in the wrong lane folks, you should turn right and come back out again. It is not my fault you are in the wrong lane.

You can’t tell me these are out of town people who are confused by the signage. Pay attention drivers!

Our gripe: Lewiston’s “Roving Diners” license: Another layer of bureaucracy making local food more expensive for residents. It costs $85, more than state licensing for the same privilege statewide. Another inspection process using undefined criteria. It kept us from joining your local Farmers’ Markets. Licensing is fine, but it must be at a reasonable cost with clear rules.

When did it become socially acceptable to go out in public wearing pajamas and house slippers? Have people in this country become that lazy?

Also, let’s nip this carry our cash in our shoe or sock or bra trend in the bud. I’ll leave the checkout line before I risk getting someone’s fungus from their sweaty cash.
