New Beginnings in Lewiston recently received a $1,500 donation for
their 5K Central Maine Credit Union Run for Homeless Youth. Dawne
Havener, left, New Beginnings board member and chair of the race,
accepted the donation from Vicki Stuart, president and CEO of Central
Maine Credit Union in Lewiston. The 5K run/walk will be held on Sunday,
Sept. 13. It is a 3.1-mile moderately flat course, starting and ending
at Gas Works Park on Lincoln Street in Lewiston. Registration will be
from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., with the race beginning at 9 a.m. The entry fee
is $15 each runner/walker and the first 100 registrants will receive a
free knit running cap or t-shirt. There will also be prizes for
