MECHANIC FALLS — Robert W. Chapman will be at the Mechanic Falls Library at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, for a book signing and reading. He will introduce his newest book, “Spider Lake” and will bring copies of his first book “A Certain Fall.”

Chapman said he visited the library regularly as a child. “This excellent, small town library kept me thirsty for more reading and supplied me with the eagerness to write. It is a place with much of its original charm and atmosphere. Small and crowded with books, it is rich in history itself,” he said.

There will be light refreshments.
