 BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Community Center has
announced it will host the town’s first Depot Street
Festival/Family Fun Day from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, on the grounds of the center, 15 Depot St.

Families and
folks of all ages will have a day of food, music and activities.  Admission is free,  and patrons can purchase
tickets ($10 each) for the pig and turkey roast, which includes a side dish and
soft drink.  There will be horse-cart rides, face painting,
bouncy tent and a dunk tank.  DJ Bill Bailey will appear as well as two live bands
featuring Dead Orange and the Highland Strings Trio.

Other events planned for the
children include a pie-eating contest, “Fashion Show on a Budget” and “Fear Factor” for those brave enough to try it.  Awards will be presented to the
winners in several age groups.

A cribbage tournament and a 50/50 raffle are also
on the agenda, with all proceeds to benefit the Bridgton Community Center.

A Bridgton Community Center youth fitness and activity program is
taking place at 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday through Aug. 26. There will
be biking, ping pong, volleyball and introduction to golf. To
participate, show up at 15 Depot St. or call 647-3116 for more
information. The program is sponsored by Communities Promoting Health
Coalition and the Bridgton Community Center.
