The Knight House, built in 1796, is the oldest wood frame home in Auburn. Adjacent to the house is the Downing Shoe Shop, a one-room shop built during the 1790s. Both buildings contain furnishings of the late 19th century. Located at Great Falls Plaza on the path to West Pitch, the buildings will be open for tours during the Balloon Festival, from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday to Sunday, Aug. 21 to 23. Admission is free. In case of rain, the buildings will not be open.
