OXFORD — Two men were arrested recently on charges of selling or possessing morphine.

Corey Britton, 30, of Cheryl Lane in Oxford was charged Monday with unlawful trafficking in morphine.

Michael Lufkin, 56, of Lovejoy Place in Norway, was arrested Tuesday on charges of operating under the influence and unlawful possession of a drug.

According to a report by agent Zane Loper of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Britton sold morphine to an individual from his trailer on June 1. Loper said the sale was monitored by a recording device and observed by MDEA agents.

According to a report by officer Theron Bickford of the Norway Police Department, Lufkin was stopped by police after he was seen driving a vehicle with a broken taillight. Police determined that Lufkin was under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs, and also found a single morphine capsule for which Lufkin did not have a prescription.

Lufkin had been released from the Oxford County Jail on Wednesday afternoon, and Britton was awaiting release.
