SABATTUS — Two men escaped serious injury Friday morning when their pickup trucks collided at routes 9 and 126, flipping both vehicles in the intersection.

Police said Forrest Malesky, 24, of Portland was driving on Route 126 when he passed through a red light, striking a truck driven by Gabriel LaRoche, 28, of Greene, who had been traveling on Route 9. Both trucks overturned in the intersection and debris was scattered across the road. However, police said neither driver was seriously hurt.

“They both walked away with minor scratches,” Sabattus police Lt. Matt Prince said.

Malesky’s 2008 Toyota and LaRoche’s 2000 Dodge were totaled. The crash remained under investigation Friday.
