Birdena ‘Dena’ Allen
1929 – 2009
LIVERMORE FALLS — Birdena Pauline Allen, 79, a resident of Livermore Falls, died Sunday, Aug. 23, very unexpectedly at her home after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 16, 1929, in Derry, N.H., the daughter of Edward Bourdeau and Velma Fulton and attended the local schools. On Feb. 12, 1949, she married David H. Allen. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.
She and her husband have owned and operated Allen’s TV in Livermore Falls for many years, where she took care of the bookkeeping end of the business. She was also a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and an exceptional homemaker who took pride in a clean home.
She and her husband were also very involved in their children and grandchildren’s sporting events, almost never missing any games. She always looked forward to the many get-togethers she hosted, especially at Christmas time with family and close friends; she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Allen of Livermore Falls; three sons, David Allen Jr. and his wife, Teri, of Readfield and their children, Heidi, David, Duncan, Emily and Chloe, Steve Allen of Livermore and his children, Nissa and Brandon and Richard Allen and his wife, Pam, of Mexico and their children, Jessica, Lucas and Devon; four great-grandchildren, Alex, Noah, Elana and Amara; brothers, Keith Fulton and his wife, Della, and Dale Fulton and his wife, Dodi; a sister, Sharee Thompson and her husband, Bob; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Hugh Fulton.
