Michael ‘Cookie’ Lascko
1953 – 2009
FAYETTE — Michael Lascko, 56, a resident of Fayette, died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 23, at his home.
He was born in Farmington, Jan. 3, 1953, the son of Andrew and Rita (Breton) Lascko. He was a 1971 graduate of Livermore Falls High School, where he excelled in basketball and football and furthered his education at the University of Maine, Farmington earning a bachelor’s degree in education.
Cookie worked at James River Otis Mill in Jay, most recently known as Wausau-Mossinee for 33 years in the maintenance department. On July 1, 1984, he married Annette LeBarron and together raised their two children. He was a devout Catholic, who regularly attended Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church.
He was a devoted father who was very involved in his childrens activities and sports; his children meant the world to him. He looked forward to his autumn trips to Pennsylvania to attend the antique car show and spend time with his close friends who knew him as “Doc.”
He is survived by his wife, Annette Lascko of Livermore Falls; a son, John Michael Lascko of Portland; a daughter, Kelli Anna Lascko and her companion, Mark Given, of Jay; two sisters, Sandra Lee of Livermore Falls and Georgette Lascko of Livermore Falls; a half sister, Lorraine Van Slycke of Florida.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, John Lascko.
