LEWISTON — Prince of Peace Parish has youth programs and a speaker scheduled at Holy Family Church, Sabattus Street.

The parish will offer religious education classes for children pre-kindergarten through fifth grades during two different sessions. Classes will take place from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Sundays or 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays, both in the Holy Family Church Hall.

A $25 donation is suggested to cover materials. Classes will start on Sept. 20 and 21. Parents may register their children at Holy Family Church from 9:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Aug. 30, or call Don Smith at the Catholic Center at 777-1200.

The parish will kick off fall youth programs on Sunday, Sept. 13, at Holy Family Church after the 6 p.m. Mass. This year there will be two youth programs: one for junior high school and one for high school students. After the kick-off event, the groups will meet separately.

Junior high youth will meet from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. Sundays and high school youth will meet after the 6:00 Mass. All Jr and High School youth are welcome to attend. For more information, call the Catholic Center.

Don Smith, a former nondenominational charismatic pastor, will shares the story of his conversion to the Catholic Church at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Holy Family Church.

Smith will share the personal struggles involved, and the theological arguments that led to the final decision. For more information, call Smith at the Catholic Center.
