NORWAY — Roland William Thomas, 56, of Otisfield died Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Norway, May 2, 1953, the son of Robert W. and Ruth Lois Hill Thomas. He graduated from Oxford Hills High School and had been employed in construction most of his life.
He married Donna Wallace on Jan. 24, 1981. He was a proud member of the Oxford Fire Rescue, a member and former trustee of Hosanna Christian Church in Welchville, where he hosted a weekly Wednesday bible study. He loved his flowers and his family, he especially lightened up when his grandchildren visited.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Wallace Thomas of Otisfield; children, John Monahan and wife, Arica, of Hebron, Deborah Lord and husband, David, of Otisfield, Shane Thomas and wife, Tammy, of Otisfield and Todd Thomas and wife, Irene, of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Amanda Monahan, Kayla Monahan, Avery Monahan, Alivia Monahan, Seth Thomas, Shyanne Lord, Alaysia Lord, Dominic Lord, Austin Thomas, Willow Thomas, Ellyanna Thomas and Joshua Thomas; sisters, Florence Weeks of Norway, Gertrude Moody of Waterford, Lettie Dvorscak and husband, James, of Casco and Roxane Thomas of Waterford; brothers, Robert L. Thomas and wife, Sandy, of Norway and Randy Thomas and wife, Pam, of Minot; sisters-in-law, Diane O’Brian and Paula Farrell, both of Otisfield; brother-in-law, Donald Wallace of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews across the United States.
He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Robbie; and his sister, Roberta Nickerson.
