Mike Dube of Rumford takes his pet parrot Orion, a 6- or 7-month-old blue-crowned conure, for a walk at noon on a sunny Tuesday along Congress Street in Rumford. Dube, who frequently nuzzled the bird with his chin, said Orion can play dead and do a cliff-hanger trick, which means hanging inverted by one claw from the end of his finger. Blue-crowned conures are native to South America.
