Has anyone noticed that U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe has not scheduled any town hall meetings during her time in Maine?

Her office staff is of little assistance on the matter, saying only that they “do not know of any plans to have such meetings.”

She needs to have input from her average constituents, beyond the ones who can take the time to write letters. Occasional strolls along city sidewalks certainly cannot provide any measure of citizen sentiment toward the monumental issues being addressed in the U.S. Senate.

Could it be that Snowe is afraid of confrontational questions regarding her stance in the important discussions that will impact Maine citizens for years to come?
