Richard and Arline Laplante

AUBURN — A surprise party was held recently for Richard and Arline Laplante of Auburn on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary. Party hosts were their children, Christine Perk and Brian Laplante and friends, Ray and Sharon Lashua.

The gathering was held at the American Legion Hall in Sabattus on June 6. Decorations were in ruby with wedding pictures in frames on the tables. Toastmasters were Brian Laplante and Christine Perk.

Mr. Laplante and the former Arline Caron were married June 14, 1969, at Holy Rosary Church in Sabattus. In addition to their two children, they have two grandchildren, Sydney and Carson Perk.

Mrs. Laplante is employed at McKesson Corp. and Mr. Laplante is employed at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center.

Original wedding guests present were Bob Laplante, Donald Vachon, Doris Vachon, Linda Cote, Pauline Douglas and Tom Vachon. There were 63 guests who attended from Lewiston, Auburn, New Gloucester, Greene, Sabattus, Litchfield, Turner, Buxton, Augusta, Rockland, East Poland, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
