AUGUSTA — The Maine Conservation Corps (MCC) has welcomed Kristie Ferland and Elise Giasson to serve as AmeriCorps members and team members for the fall season.

Ferland, who is from Hebron, is the daughter of Richard and Sandra Ferland. She is a 1997 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, a 2001 graduate of the University of Rhode Island and is pursuing graduate studies at the University of Maine in Orono.

Giasson, who is from Auburn and is the daughter of Mike Giasson and Kim Lessard, is a 2007 graduate of Edward Little High School and attends the University of Maine at Farmington.

The MCC conducts conservation projects throughout the state, including extensive trail construction and rehabilitation. Ferland and Giasson will serve on a crew of six members undertaking several trails projects across the state during the fall season.
