NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital has announced the successful completion of the Safe Sitter® class on June 29 with participants, Samantha Mallory, Julia Dillon, Mary Bryce, Sarah Phinney, Shauna Pray, Heather Doherty and Alexis Caron.

Safe Sitter® (www.safesitter.org) is a medically accurate program that teaches ages 11 to 15 how to be safe, nurturing babysitters. The goal of the program is to reduce the number of avoidable and unintentional deaths among children being cared for by babysitters.

The class teaches infant and child CPR, safety for the sitter, business practices and how to entertain children, among other things.

Call the Family Birthplace for information on future class dates at 743-1562, ext. 380. The fee is $50 for the two-day class.
