NORWAY — Victoria Rogers, a 2009 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, recently presented Western Maine Health with an assortment of books for waiting rooms.

Rogers wanted to do something positive for the community as part of her Girl Scout project to earn the Gold Award, the highest award in scouting. She said, “Reading is awesome” and felt that waiting rooms throughout the Western Maine Health system would benefit from some additional reading material, so she coordinated the collection of books covering a wide range of ages.

Rogers is no stranger to volunteering. She shared her passion for reading as a volunteer for the after-school program at the Paris Public Library, starting when she was in the sixth grade.

Rogers is preparing to attend college in Pennsylvania, and she aspires to be an editor after she receives her degree.
