BETHEL — On Saturday, Sept. 5, the Bethel Inn Resort will present “MoonDance,” a musical cabaret and one-woman show featuring Manhattan-based singer Karen Nason.
A New Edge Entertainment production, “MoonDance” is an interactive, light-hearted, humorous story of one woman’s life journey in the 20th century.
The story of Luna Diamond, an empowered woman of her time, is told through songs from the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s, including “Blue Moon,” “Moon River,” “Moondance,” “Aquarius” and “All You Need is Love.”
Set in 1969 on July 20, the night the astronauts landed on the moon, Luna tells her life story, which is intertwined with the dynamic social and cultural changes of that era.
Nason has been singing at clubs and events throughout New York City for 20 years, and has owned and managed her own jazz bar in Chelsea. She performs at the Bethel Inn Resort on weekends in the summer.
On keyboard is Deirdre Robinson, a Maine musician and artist; and on guitar is Chuck Muldoon, a Maine musician and actor.
Cost for the dinner (at 6:30 p.m.) and show (at 7:30 p.m.) is $29.95 per person, which includes a four-course dinner and a shared bottle of wine. Show-only seats are $10. For reservations or more information, call the inn at 824-2175.
