Book bidding

ANDOVER — The Andover Historical Society will sell, by bid, a copy of “Andover: The First 175 Years,” with the drawing at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Old Home Days. Bids may be made at the society building on that day or by mailing to Bev Swan, P.O. Box268, Andover, ME 04216. The book is out of print and difficult to obtain.

 Rummage sale

RUMFORD — The Rumford Community Home will sponsor an outdoor rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the home, 11 JF Kennedy Drive. Funds will go toward a flat screen TV for residents. A rain date will be set if needed. For more information, call 364-7863.

Class luncheon

RUMFORD — Members of the class of ’52 from Stephens High School will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at Teena’s Country Dining Room for luncheon. Members and guests are welcome.

Lobster supper

RUMFORD — The Rumford Lodge of Elks 862 will hold a twin lobster or
steak night on Saturday, Aug. 8. The menu will consist of lobster or steak,
potato salad, corn on the cob and dessert. The cost is $22 for lobster
and $15 for steak. The deadline for tickets is Saturday, Aug. 1.

Supper will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. and take-outs will be available. Entertainment will be provided by Sammie Angel from 7 to 10 p.m.
