Michael Beamis
1948 – 2009
Farmington – Michael “Mike” Beamis, 60, of Eustis, died early Sunday morning at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
He was born Nov. 8, 1948, in Rochester, N.H., the son of James E. and Rowena K. (Price) Beamis. He received his education in Somersworth schools. In 1966, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam — receiving both a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
Following his honorable discharge from the Army, he worked for a short time for the U.S. Postal Service, and later worked at the Portsmouth/Kittery Naval Shipyard for several years. He then moved to the Stratton area, where he started M. B. Guide Service, which is still operating today.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Stratton ATV Club. He enjoyed introducing young people to the outdoors, especially hunting. He will live forever in our hearts.
He is survived by a son, Michael, and his companion, Crystal Jaczuk, of Milton, N.H.; brothers, Danny Beamis and his partner, Steve Cotreau, of Wells, James Beamis Jr. and his companion, Mary Leonard, of Elliot, and Robert Beamis and his wife, Debbie, of North Berwick; a sister, Mary Beamis, of Wells; his companion, Beth Hooke, of Salem; step-daughters, Cheryl Cote and her husband, Shawn, of Limington, and Christine LaBrecque and her husband, Alan, of Arundel; step-son, Mark Posson, of Windham; and four grandchildren.
