PORTLAND — Children’s music superstars and Noggin channel favorites Laurie Berkner, Susie Lampert and Adam Bernstein will perform at a Pajama Party concert Sunday, Oct. 18, at Merrill Auditorium.

Kids are encouraged to come in their pajamas and bring their favorite stuffed animals – those in-the-know will put them on their heads for the band’s in-concert favorite “Pig on Her Head.”

The Laurie Berkner Band will play old and new hits, including songs from its 2008 CD, “Rocketship Run.”

Berkner provides vocals with Lampert on keyboards and Bernstein on bass. At the 1 p.m. concert, Bob Golden will be introduced on drums/percussion.

Families are encouraged to bring a pair of new children’s pajamas and/or new children’s book to donate to The Pajama Program (www.pajamaprogram.org), which provides new pj’s for children in need, many of whom are entering foster care.

Widely recognized as an indie children’s recording artist in the United States, Berkner’s songwriting, vocals and infectious melodies have won not only legions of young fans, but also parents, who enjoy the music as much as their kids.

Tickets, $35 and $25, are available online at www.porttix.com; at the Porttix Box Office, 20 Myrtle St.; and by calling 842-0800. Children under 1 admitted free with a complimentary ticket. These tickets must be requested at time of purchase.
