Liane Lapointe
1922 – 2009
LEWISTON – Liane Lapointe, 87, formerly of 243 Meadowview Park, Lewiston, died Thursday, Sept. 3, at Montello Commons Nursing Home in Lewiston.
Born in Lewiston on Aug. 9, 1922, she was the daughter of Hilaire and Marianne Ouellette Lapointe. Educated in local schools, she worked in the card room of the Continental Mill for several years, and then worked at Knapp Shoe for 30 years, retiring in 1981.
Always very musical, she taught herself to play piano by ear, and delighted fellow residents at Montello with her playing. She will also be remembered for her great sense of humor.
A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Adolphe Lapointe, and three sisters, Germaine Labonte, Irene Tardif and Regina Lapointe.
