 1925 – 2009

LEXINGTON, Mass. — Don D. W. Lambert Jr. of Lexington, Mass., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, after a brief stay at the Lahey Clinic.

He was born in Danville, Maine, on June 10, 1925, the son of Don and Eunice (White) Lambert. He graduated from Edward Little High School and the University of Maine and served in the Navy during World War II.

In 1946, he married Aino Pulkkinen, who passed away in 2006. Together they raised a family and enjoyed all of their many relatives and adventures through 60 years of marriage. He has missed her greatly these last three years.

Don enjoyed a lifetime career in the building products industry, largely with Owens Corning. Although he enjoyed his work, it was upon retirement that he will be remembered for volunteering for charities, joining and contributing to many clubs and organizations, continuing his lifetime enjoyment of books, biking, skiing, walking and spending additional time with his family, especially his love of being a grandfather. His family will always remember his wonderful sense of humor and strong sense of integrity.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Lambert, of Lexington, Mass.; his son, Mark Lambert and wife, Barbara, of New Gloucester, Maine; and grandchildren, Matthew and Paul Aronstein, and Isaiah and April Lambert.
