RUMFORD — The River Valley Chamber of Commerce, along with the River Valley Growth Council, has invited Tony Payne, executive director of the Alliance for Maine’s Future, to present The Stubborn Facts of the Maine Economy. The breakfast seminar will be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Sept. 23 in the upstairs meeting room at Sam’s Foods of Rumford.

Payne’s presentation highlights the challenges the state must confront in order to measurably improve economic health and create career opportunities for young people. A statewide, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, The Alliance’s objective is to hold legislators accountable for a healthy Maine economy through workplace education and voter action. Its affiliated political action committee works to elect candidates who will support the growth and vitality of the private sector.

Those interested in attending should contact Cherri Crockett at: [email protected] or call 364-3241 by Sept. 16. Chamber members pay $8, non-members pay $10 for the breakfast and seminar.
