LEEDS — Maine State Police detectives were searching Monday night for a driver whose vehicle struck a Turner man in a driveway off Route 219 Sunday night, leaving him critically injured.

Jason Gagnon, 31, was being treated at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said. His condition was critical Sunday night, he said.

A nursing supervisor said Monday night that Gagnon’s family requested that information on his condition not be released.

Gagnon was injured when he was hit by a vehicle at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, McCausland said. The driver of the vehicle involved has not been located.

“State Police are looking for (the driver) as they continue to find out what happened and why,” McCausland said.
