WEST PARIS — Peter E. Nicholas, 83, of Norway died Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Ledgeview Living Center.
He was born in Presque Isle, March 30, 1926, the son of Oliver and Lucy Rossignol Nicholas. He served in the National Guard.
He had been employed as a machine operator at U.S. Gypsum in Lisbon Falls and had worked at the Perkins School for the Blind. He was a stamp collector and enjoyed scrapbooking. He loved country music and nature, feeding the squirrels. He was very proud of his Passamaquoddy Indian heritage. He married Laurette Dubois in 1987.
He is survived by his wife of West Paris; a son, Nazaire Peter Bedard and his wife, Marilyn, of Norway; a brother, Oliver Nicholas Jr. of Oxford; a sister, Verniece; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Leo; and a sister, Doris.
