Reginald N. Richards
1938 – 2009
AUBURN — Reginald N. Richards, 71, died on Sept. 8, of emphysema and esophagus cancer at the Hospice House with his family by his side.
He was born in East Jay, Feb. 16, 1938, to Archie and Lillian (Powers) Richards.
He worked most of his life in shoe shops in Livermore Falls and North Jay for Bass and Cohan Shoe Co.
On Feb. 3, 1956, he married his love, Gertrude Laplante. Together they raised their family of seven in Livermore Falls. He was also a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay.
He enjoyed watching his family grow into young men and women. He loved family gatherings and camping, especially with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed tinkering.
Besides his wife of 53 years, he leaves behind his sons, Mark and his partner, Angela of Jay, Roland and his wife, Michelle, of Lakeland, Fla., and Michael and his wife, Cathy, of Lewiston; daughters, Tammy Richards and her partner, Christine, of Monmouth, Irene Lynch and her husband, Jim, of North Carolina, Nicole Castonguay and her husband, Gerald, of Livermore and Heidi Davis of Sidney; grandchildren, Joshua Richards of Livermore, Jason Richards of Las Vegas, Nev., Aaron Richards of Iraq, Allan Richards of Jay, Jessica Richards of South Carolina, Amber and Jasmin Richards of Livermore Falls, Lexi Davis of Sidney, Ashley and Cody Castonguay of Livermore, Amanda Arroyo and Justin Richards of Lakeland, Fla., Alannah White of Jay and Scott Webb Jr. of Monmouth; great-grandchildren, Ethan Richards of Jay, Adrien Arroyo of Lakeland, Fla., and Lila and Audrey Webb of Monmouth; brothers, Gerald and Gary Richards of Livermore Falls and Horace Richards of Lewiston; special brother, Ron Morris of Livermore Falls; sisters, Faye James and her husband, David, of New Hampshire, and Diane Bonito of Lewiston; many nieces and nephews; and a special little girl, Riley Jean Jordan of Canton.
He was predeceased by his parents; and sisters, Arlene White and Beverly McDonald.
