Bernadette M. Turcotte
1931 – 2009
AUBURN — Bernadette M. Turcotte, 78, of Switzerland Road, Lewiston died Wednesday, Sept. 9, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, with her family at her side.
She was born in St. Agatha, May 14, 1931, a daughter of the late Patrick and Annie (Plourde) Chasse.
She married the love of her life, Jean (Jim) Turcotte on Nov. 24, 1949. He predeceased her in 1995. She was a member of St. Joseph’s church and now Holy Family Church, she was a devout Roman Catholic.
Her life revolved around her family. She had a special way of making each family member feel like they were the most loved. She also shared her love and humor with those who touched her life.
She leaves behind six daughters, Claudette Turcotte of Lewiston, Rachel Ayo and her companion, Roger Carrier, of Sabattus, Patricia Martin and her husband, Glenn, of Buckfield, Janet Bilodeau and her husband, David, of Sabattus, Louise Austin and her husband, Bruce, of Sabattus and Kathleen (Babe) Gagne and her husband, Norman, of Monmouth; three sons, Denis Turcotte of Auburn, Michael Turcotte and his wife, Jodie, of Lewiston and William Turcotte and his wife, Peggy, of Bath; two sisters, Yvette Martin and her husband, Oscar, of Connecticut, and Rachel Whitten of Lewiston; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three grandchildren, Kristina and Shannon Ayo, and Dana Bilodeau; and two brothers, Fern and Edward Chasse.
The family would like to send a very special thank-you to the entire staff at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, also The Hospice House for their compassion and care they gave to Bernadette. Also to Dr. Raymond Tardiff for the special relationship he had with her.
