PARIS — The Paris Public Library’s New and Old Classics Book Club will continue on Wednesday, Sept. 23, with the novel “A Farewell to Arms” by Ernest Hemingway, concluding the Classic Love Stories series.

The discussion group meets at the Paris Public Library at 7 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of every month, reading books in three-month series. The next series, for October, November and December, will be Books That Changed the World, featuring the novels, “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” by Harriet Beecher Stowe and “The Jungle” by Upton Sinclair, and the nonfiction work “Silent Spring” by Rachel Carson.

The group focuses on books commonly considered new or contemporary classics, exploring books from different countries, time periods and writing styles.

Participants may borrow the books through the library or purchase copies at cost.
