Elinor M. Huotari
1927 – 2009
WEST PARIS — Elinor M. (Record) Huotari, 82, a longtime resident of Fayette, died Thursday, Sept. 10, at Ledgeview Living Center.
She was born in Portland, Sept. 4, 1927, the daughter of Carlton and Bernice (Thurlow) Record and attended schools in South Paris. On Dec. 14, 1946, she married Kauno A. Huotari in South Paris. They moved to Fayette in September 1957. He passed away on June 28, 1995. She loved reading, cooking, canning and get-togethers with family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Huotari of Temple; a daughter, Kathryn (Huotari) Scribner and her husband, Les, of Fayette; a brother, Mike Record and his wife, Ethelyn “Bunny,” of Norway and Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Dorothy Slattery of Waterford, Conn.; a grandson, Aaron Huotari and his wife, Aimé, of Bangor; a great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Huotari; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Milton; and a brother-in-law, Cmdr. Frances Slattery, U.S. Navy.
