Susan L. Sawyer

AUBURN — Susan L. Sawyer, 52, a resident of 32 Royal Oaks Drive, died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 5, at her residence.
She was born in Augusta, May 17, 1957, the daughter of Hollis R. and Sylvia J. (McKeown) Sawyer. She attended Auburn schools and was a 1975 graduate of Edward Little High School.
After school, she became a certified nursing assistant working for Clover Manor for several years. In 1982, she joined the U.S. Air Force serving in Germany, where her daughter, Valerie was born.
After completion of her military service, she moved back to Auburn until her passing. She will best be remembered for her big heart and caring she gave to those she loved, especially her brother, Brad, his children, Zachary, Tyler, Isaac and Abigal Sawyer as well as the caring she gave for her 101-year-old cousin, Ethelyn Nicholas. Another huge part of her life was the love she shared with her cats.
Survivors include her parents of Pompano Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Valerie J. Doze and husband, Michael, of Lewiston; three brothers, Warren Sawyer and wife, Nancy, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Gregory Sawyer and wife, Susan, of Auburn and Bradley Sawyer of Auburn; three sisters, Wendy Downey and husband, Michael, of Ellsworth, Sandra Tassinarie and husband, George Greenwood, of Poland and Cheryl Buerhaus and husband, Jeff, of Scarborough; and many nieces and nephews.
