LEWISTON – Showbow Saban scored the game’s only goal and Chris Jacques was brilliant in goal as Lewiston held off Brunswick for a 1-0 boys’ soccer triumph Friday evening.

Saban’s goal came at 23:48 in the first half. With Brunswick goalie Zac MacMillan out near the 12, Saban booted the ball over his head and into the net from 35 yards away.

With the Blue Devils in front, Jacques prevented Brunswick from scoring the equalizer, including a leaping grab of a point-blank shot with 10 minuters to play. Jacques, who finished with nine saves, cleanly caught every balls in the air near the goal despite pressure from the Dragons.  

Oak Hill 5, Medomak Valley 1

\WALDOBORO – Brian Soucy scored an impressive four goals to lead Oak Hill to a 5-1 victory over Medomak Valley in KVAC boys’ soccer action Friday.

Brian Soucy scored the first goal of the game off a feed from Zach Lennett for the Raiders (3-0), before Adam Soucy recorded an unassisted tally.

Alex MacKenzie netted the only goal that the Panthers (0-2) would muster just before the midpoint.

Brian Soucy controlled the offense in the second half, while Brian Bradstreet, Danny Tucker and Jake Samson provided an iron defense for Oak Hill.

Livermore Falls 53, Madison 0

LIVERMORE FALLS —Chandler White raced for four touchdowns, including a 39-yard romp on the game’s third play, and Jeff Ryder added a pair of touchdowns to lead Livermore Falls to a 53-0 romp over Madison on Friday night.

Stev Michaud also scored a touchdown, while kicker Trevor Timberlake was perfect on six extra points and a 22-yard field goal.
