I read the newspaper Sept. 5 in total disbelief. It appears members of the Sabattus Board of Selectmen have collectively lost their minds. Jim Bennett has been hired as the interim (whatever that really means) town manager.
What were they thinking? It appears to me they were not thinking about what is best for the town of Sabattus.
If you were looking for a plumber to work at your home, would you hire the one your neighbor had fired?
If the current town manager was not doing the job the board expected him to, so be it. Start the hiring process, collect and review resumés. To bring in someone and pay him a salary for the sake of having someone in the office is ludicrous.
Considering all I have read in the local paper, Bennett has nothing to offer the town of Sabattus.
